Have questions about selling, buying, and everything in between? Here's your guide to knowing it all and how A-List Tack operates!
Q: What are your consignment rates?
Flat rate: 15% on everything. As a full-time teacher, this is truly something I just enjoy doing to help others and stay connected in our horse community, which is why my rate is considerably lower than others in the area. That's not to say any less work is put in by me to sell your tack, though!
Q: Do you have a storefront?
I do not! I work out of my property exclusively and that is because again, I am a full-time teacher. I am just lucky enough to have indoor space dedicated to be converted into a tack room to work from.
Q: Can I come shop?
I do not allow people to "shop" because I live at a private residence. With that being said, if you are looking for something specific, let me know and I will send photos of what I have available. We can then schedule a time to meet if you would like.
Q: What areas do you serve?
All over! Although I am based out of SW WA, over half of my sales go to California or the Midwest. That is the beauty of online selling - I'm not limited to one area in particular!
Q: How do you start selling my items?
Start by filling out this form. Then, I will contact you and set up a time to meet. After I have your items, I will do an inventory intake form and ask for your approval before I post your items for sale. You have access to this list to see what is selling in real time (it's updated whenever an item sells).
Q: I see a lot of western tack, do you sell English tack too?

I sell limited English tack and mostly accept only high-end saddles and various bits. The English market tends to be flooded with used tack sales, which leaves only a little profit room for me and you, and the items often sit longer than normal. But please ask about your items! You never know what is in high demand at the time.
Q: What items sell really well?
Usually my best and fastest sellers are saddle pads, bits, sport boots (in any condition, really), and bridles. During the seasonal months, blankets and fly products.
Q: I don't have a marked saddle, can you still sell it?
I can sell almost anything but it must be safe. I do not sell unsafe items, and most unmarked tack will sell for a considerably lower price than items with a mark from a maker - even saddles!
Q: Why don't you post all your items on your Facebook Page?
Simply put, I sell most items too quickly to put on my Facebook Page and it usually isn't worth my time! Almost all of my items sell in other platforms and it is rare someone purchases off my Facebook page. I use it mostly as a way to connect with potential sellers.
Q: What if my stuff doesn't sell?
No big deal! We can either decide to spend more time selling it, or I might ask you to collect your remaining items after a certain period of time. I don't charge a commission fee unless I sell the item.
Q: How do I get my earnings?
I pay sellers at the end of each month, or some sellers opt to wait until the majority of their items sell. It is up to you! If you need payment immediately after an item sells, there is a 5% rush fee.

Q: Do you have horses?
I have two horses, Zipper and Rico. They are some of the best parts of my life!
Q: I want to buy something and I'm near you. Do you have to ship it?
I don't have to ship, but depending on where you are located you might have to schedule a meet time. I try to group my travels to specific areas, so sometimes same-day isn't always possible unless you would like to drive closer to my location. I ship Monday - Saturday and some buyers opt to ship just out of convenience.
Q: I have a hard-to-fit horse, do you do trials?
I do not do any trials to protect my sellers and tack items. I inspect every saddle that I photograph and I have denied a few saddles because I felt they were not safe to sell. With that being said, I can not guarantee a saddle on trial will be in the same condition when it returns and I am not willing to risk my seller's saddle in an accident - even with a contract and payment. This is a non-negotiable. However, I am more than happy to provide videos, photos, and detailed measurements.
Q: Can I try a saddle on my horse if I'm local?
Sure! We can schedule a time to meet at a local fairgrounds or
barn. I travel to you and your barn for a fee based on mileage, but it is waived if you purchase a saddle that same day.
Q: Do you do returns?

I do not do returns. Please think of me as a "private seller," rather than a store front like a feed store or custom tack shop. I essentially provide a service to help people sell their tack, and I do not do returns for the same reason I do not do trials. This is also non-negotiable and has always been my policy.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
Yes, of course! I have shipped to Europe, Canada, and New Zealand. Buyer is responsible for shipping, and I must be aware of import requirements prior to shipping.
Q: Do you just buy stuff you get in all the time?
As tempting as it is, no :) If I did, I would have to hire someone to consign and sell all of my extra tack for me!
Q: How do you manage teaching and A-List?

Teaching comes first. In the summer time I am able to take on more clients than I would during the school-year. When I am teaching, I do still take clients, but they are limited. When Spring gets closer, I tend to increase the number of clients I take in because that is the height of selling!
Q: How do I contact you?
Please check out my Facebook page and use the message feature, or you can contact me through this website.
